Working in collaborating with Jamyang London Buddhist Centre, the Science & Wisdom LIVE initiative has announced the launch of a new e-learning program focused on the intersection between Buddhist philosophy, science, and the practice of mindfulness. The first online course in this program is scheduled to begin in March 2023 on the theme “Buddhism and Quantum Physics.”
“We are thrilled to announce the first online course, which will focus on Buddhism & Quantum Physics,” Science & Wisdom LIVE said in an announcement shared with BDG. “The course will be led by a distinguished panel of experts in the field: Prof. Carlo Rovelli, Geshe Tenzin Namdak, Prof. Michel Bitbol, Prof. John Dunne, Dr. John Realpe, Scott Snibbe, and Dr. Marco Colnaghi.”
Science & Wisdom LIVE is a project of Jamyang London Buddhist Centre in partnership with Mind & Life Europe, working to support dialogue between meditation practitioners and scientists on variety of topics discuss involving the intersections of scientific research, mindfulness practices, and the challenges of living on contemporary society.
“This self-paced, online course explores the profound parallels between Buddhist philosophy and modern quantum physics” Science & Wisdom LIVE explained. “The intersection of Buddhist studies and quantum physics bridges the gap between the ancient wisdom of contemplative tradition with modern scientific knowledge, expanding your understanding of the nature of reality.” (Science & Wisdom LIVE)
The course is open to beginners and experienced Buddhist practitioners alike, with a syllabus that is designed to be “accessible, engaging, and applicable to daily life.” Science & Wisdom LIVE stated that its aspiration for all of the courses in the new program is to bring together people of all backgrounds in a mutually supportive environment to explore the confluences and commonalities between science and spirituality.
“Every human being is searching for meaning in this mysterious universe and through this shared sense of wonder we can cultivate insights, build our community (sangha), and expand the consciousness of humanity,” said Science & Wisdom LIVE. “This interactive online course on Buddhism and Quantum Physics will provide you with new tools to analyze your mind and investigate the nature of reality and the self. With this fundamental shift in perspective, you can become more open to experiencing joy in daily life, expanding your worldview, improving your well-being, experiencing mindfulness, and cultivating a deeper meditation practice.” (Science & Wisdom LIVE)
