The IC Buddhism & Australia invites submissions for the 10th international conference Buddhism & Australia: 18–20 February 2021. Due to the pandemic situation, only scholarly articles for publishing will be expected this time.
In addition to the abstract and paper submission, authors will be able to submit their virtual presentations to provide more visibility to their paper (recommended). Each peer reviewed and accepted submission can take the form of a pre-recorded video, available during the original dates of the conference and after the conference concludes.
Topics for submission include, but are not limited to:
Buddhism and Buddhist Studies in Northern Europe
Contemporary Thai Buddhism
Chinese Buddhism
Buddhism in Korea
Buddhism in Vietnam
Buddhism in Cambodia
The organizers are accepting proposals on Buddhist history, philosophy, texts, as well proposals on any theme related to Buddhism.
Submission Deadline: Proposals should be submitted by 30 November 2020 by the following email: [email protected]
If a proposal is accepted for the conference, a full draft paper should be submitted by 15 December 2020. We acknowledge receipt and answer to all proposals submitted. The conference registration fee of A$120 should be paid by 15 December 2020. Virtual presentation should be submitted before 31 January 2021.
The submission of a virtual presentation is optional, it is recommended to provide more visibility to your paper. Authors can submit any of the following formats: Video (mp4): A video with the author presenting the main ideas of the paper should be recorded. The recommended length for video presentations is 15 minutes.
Authors can submit a PowerPoint or pdf file with the presentation material and slides. There is not a specific template for presentations and participants can adopt the one of their preference. The recommended number of slides is 15-20.
Each registered participant will receive the author/participation certificates and summary of presentations by email just after the conference dates.

Those who have prepared for certain big task and who are able to put some sort of idea on certain topics, we have a proposal to compose an essay which needs to create a bridge back to the Buddha. Anyone, from any country, is free to apply. Selected essays will be published on the conference website.

Criteria:
The essay should be at least 800 words and not over 2300 words.
All essays must be absolutely original and in your own words.
Images are encouraged. You are free to use images but they must be copyright-free.
Submissions are accepted only in Microsoft Word documents (doc or docx).
The cover page of your essay must contain your complete details such as your full name, phone number and email.
The essay must be written in English.
